Automatic Antenna Replacement
 Submitted by Glenn
Note: This DIY is for replacing a bent or broken antenna mast in your power antenna. This DIY procedure does not cover a more serious problem like broken gears inside the power antenna motor.

Replacing the mast can only be done IF the existing gear (the white part that is inserted) of the old antenna is still intact. If it breaks inside the motor housing- it will prevent the motor from retracting the new antenna down completely and can even damage the new antenna making it difficult to engage with the antenna motor.

1. Unscrew the retaining nut. Remove old antenna mast/cable if still present.

2. Turn on Radio. Extend replacement antenna to full length.
3. Insert the new antenna cable. You should be able feel the cable teeth catch onto the gears of the motor.
4. While holding extended antenna, turn off the radio and guide the antenna mast into the tube while the antenna is being retracted.
5. Replace retaining nut.
